Spring 2026 Semester Parking Permit Information

All spring 2026 permits will expire on Sunday, May 31.

Summer 2026 Permits

A Summer 2026 permit is required of all residential, commuter students, student workers, graduate assistants and adjuncts parking on University property. 

Summer 2026 permits will be available for purchase starting May 20, 2026. These permits will be active June 1 through August 7. 

All vehicles parked on University property must be either linked to an active permit or have purchased time to park in one of the ParkMobile hourly parking lots.

Permit Pricing

Summer 2026 permit pricing will be as follows.

Residential student parking permits for students living on campus. 

  • Residential summer semester parking permits are $20. 

  • Permits are sold according to the housing facility of the residential student and may be used to park in their assigned zones only. 

  • Residential parking permits are restricted to one vehicle at a time. Contact Transportation Services to make any changes to your residential permit.

  • Families residing in Cajun Village who need to purchase an additional permit for a second driver in the family may do so for $10 for the summer. The second permit may only be purchased in the Office of Transportation Services.

  • Residential Handicap Permits are also available to individuals residing on campus for the summer who have current state issued handicap credentials on file with Transportation Services. Any student with active state issued handicap credentials in their name may request to be approved to purchase a residential handicap parking permit by emailing their drivers license, mobility card and hangtag to geauxpark@louisiana.edu. This permit allows parking in the handicap spaces reserved with signage for residential handicap parking permits or any other parking space in their residential zone.

Commuter students:

Please note that bus service from Cajun Field has been suspended for the summer. Bus services will resume at the start of the fall semester in August. Commuter parking permits will not be available for the summer semester.

Summer shuttle stop locations for continuous loop shuttle service include:

  1. Student Union
  2. Rex St.
  3. Legacy (Near Cafe' Fleur De Lis)
  4. Cajun Village (S. Campus Drive)
  5. Heritage (Club House)
  6. Bourgeois (Gym side)
  7. Health Sciences (611 St. Landry)

Shuttle service hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Permits available to commuter students for the summer include:

Girard Park Circle Parking Tower
  • Guaranteed parking on the third through sixth floors of the garage on all class days.

  • Summer permits will be sold for $125 for the summer. 

  • Permits will be available for purchase starting May 20, 2026. These permits are available on a limited basis.

  • Permits will be active June 1 through August 7, 2026.

  • It is not a night permit and does not allow parking elsewhere on campus.

Zone 17C permits
  • Commuter students can purchase a parking permit for Zone 17C for $20.

  • This permit will allow parking only in Zone 17C which is shown on the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Main Campus & Health Science Campus Zone Map on the Zone Lists & Maps web page. Parking with this permit is restricted to the two areas marked as Zone 17C on the Zone Map

  • These permits are limited and will be sold on a first come first served basis. 

  • Permits will be active June 1 through August 7, 2026.

Graduate Assistant Permits

For the summer 2026, graduate assistants will purchase the Zone 17C permit. The GA specific permits will be available to purchase again for the fall 2026 semester.

Student Aide Permits 

Available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office. 

  • Student Aide Summer permits are $20.

  • Student Aides wanting to purchase a permit must have their supervisor submit their name to Transportation Services each semester to be placed in a pool of those eligible to purchase one of the limited permits.

Permit Types

Residential Student Parking Permits are for students living on campus. They are sold according to your housing facility.

  • Each permit may be attached to one vehicle. If you need to change the vehicle on your permit, you must email geauxpark@louisiana.edu
  • You may have a residential permit and a Commuter Cajun Field Permit simultaneously.
  • Families residing in Cajun Village who need to purchase a second permit for an additional driver may do so for $20 each semester. The second permit may only be purchased in the Office of Transportation Services.

Effective Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, a Residential Handicap Parking permit is required to park in any designated handicap parking space in a residential parking zone. It may be used in the permitted residential zone only. It does not allow parking in handicap or regular parking spaces anywhere else on campus.

Purchase your permit online

Email a scan of your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard (or vehicle registration if it is a state-issued handicap license plate) for review. An email will be sent within two business days either notifying you of approval or requesting additional information. Once approved, you will be able to purchase the permit online.

Purchase your permit in person

Bring your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard (or vehicle registration if it is a state-issued handicap license plate) to the Transportation Services office. The permit will be sold once the credentials are reviewed.

The Cajun Field Commuter Permit allows parking at Cajun Field only. The permit is free, but you must obtain a new permit every semester through the parking portal to park at Cajun Field.

  • Buses run from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and stop in the following order:
    • Cajun Field (Gate D)
    • Bourgeois Hall (heading toward campus)
    • Rex Street (Agnes Edwards Hall)
    • Bourgeois Hall (heading toward Cajun Field)
  • This is not a night permit. Commuter students may have a commuter permit and a night permit simultaneously.

Commuter Handicap Parking Permits are available online for those who meet the approval requirements.

  • If you have previously purchased a Commuter Student Handicap parking permit and your state-issued handicap credentials are still active, you may email geauxpark@louisiana.edu to request to purchase your permit online each semester.  
  • If you have never purchased a handicap parking permit at the University, you may send a scan of your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard or vehicle registration to geauxpark@louisiana.edu for review. A confirmation email will be sent within two business days notifying you of approval or requesting additional information.

The Girard Park Circle Parking Tower Permit guarantees parking on the third through sixth floors of the garage on all class days. It is not a night permit and does not allow parking elsewhere on campus. A limited number of permits are available for $350 per fall semester, $350 per spring semester and $125 for the summer. 

Wilson Street Lot Permit allows parking in the lot at 712 Wilson St., one block south of campus. The permit is $250 per fall semester and $250 per spring semester and is available on a very limited basis.

New for the Spring 2026 semester, a $40 permit will be offered to commuter students for parking in a newly designated location on the main campus named Zone 17C. The permitted parking location for this permit may be found on the ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ Campus Parking Zone Map (Archived). There are a limited number of these permits available on a first come, first serve basis. Parking with this permit will be restricted to the two areas designated on the map.

  • Two permits are available at a very limited availability as follows:
  • Permits are $40 per fall or spring semester and $20 for summer.
  • A shuttle runs from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and stops in the following order for fall and spring semesters:
    1. 611 St. Landry St.
    2. The Student Union
    3. Rex Street
    4. Café Fleur de Lis in Legacy Apartments
    5. S. Campus Drive behind Cajun Village family living
    6. The Club House at The Heritage Apartments.  
    7. Summer semesters - add a stop at Bourgeois Hall (Gym Side)

Night Permits are available to commuter students and allow parking in designated areas after 3 p.m. Night permits are $25 for fall or spring semester and $10 for summer. A map of the night permit parking areas is available on the Zone Listings & Maps webpage.

Graduate Assistant permits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office.

  • Two GA permits are available for purchase for each fall or spring semester. Check with Transportation Services for changes during summer semesters. 
  • Once a permit is purchased, you may park in your permitted area only during that semester. Permit locations are as follows:

Student Aide permits are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office.

  • If you want to purchase a permit, you must have your supervisor submit your name to Transportation Services to be placed in a pool of those eligible to buy one.
  • Permit prices are $40 each fall or spring semester and $20 each summer semester.

  2. On the Parking & Transportation card, select the Access My Parking Account link to enter the Parking Portal.
  3. Select Get Permits and follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

Your permit is successfully purchased when you receive a confirmation email to your University-issued email address. If you do not receive confirmation, email geauxpark@louisiana.edu.

Purchase In Person

  • Visit the Office of Transportation Services at 619 McKinley St., suite 100.
  • Bring your student ID, vehicle registration, and payment.
    • Payments accepted include debit/credit cards, money orders, and Cajun Cash. Checks and cash are not accepted.

Office of Transportation Services Lobby Hours

Transportation Service's lobby hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
