Alumni and friends can bring a piece of ǿ޴ý Lafayette home with them through a Walk of Honor commemorative brick this holiday season.

These replica bricks represent the ones found on the University’s Walk of Honor — the continuously updated walkway on campus that features the names of more than 120,000 alumni who graduated between 1903 and 2019. Through a collaboration with Awardmaster, a Lafayette company that produces the personalized replica bricks, alumni can take this unique tradition home with them or even gift a paver to a loved one.

The replica bricks cost $90 with a University-branded stand or $75 for the brick alone. Graduates from any year are eligible to buy one, as well as family members or friends. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit the Alumni Association.

Sarah Lopez, co-owner of Awardmaster, is extremely proud that her business can help bring this idea to life. “We are honored to collaborate with the Alumni Association for this initiative. As a small business, we recognize the pivotal role the University plays in the Acadiana community,” she said. Lopez is also an alumna of the University, and she’s proud to support her alma mater in this way. “Contributing to the community through initiatives like this holds great importance to us, and we are dedicated to making a positive impact beyond the realm of business.”

With the holiday season quickly approaching, Lopez thinks the replica bricks would make the perfect present for any Ragin’ Cajun. “The Walk of Honor commemorative bricks make great gifts for the holidays because it’s not always easy to visit campus and see your brick in person — although we highly recommend at least doing it once,” she said. These custom pavers are also an excellent choice for new graduates from the University. “Graduating from the ǿ޴ý is a significant accomplishment, and these replica bricks serve as a wonderful way to celebrate that achievement,” she said.

Whether you gift a replica brick or purchase one for yourself, these iconic pavers allow you to take your ǿ޴ý Lafayette memories with you wherever you go. “Bringing a replica brick home allows you to reminisce on walking across the University’s campus — which makes them a thoughtful and nostalgic holiday gift,” Lopez said.
