(As told through Disney characters)
When you first begin your college career, it may seem like graduation is light years away. However, in the blink of an eye, you鈥檙e walking across the stage, receiving your alumni lapel pin, and wondering where the time went. Everyone鈥檚 college journey may differ from one another, but we all share similar milestones along the way. With commencement approaching, here鈥檚 a look back at what a typical college journey is like 鈥 as told through the eyes of Disney characters.
Freshman Year - Pluto
You鈥檝e scheduled your classes, moved into your residence hall, and you're ready to start this next chapter of your life! Just like Pluto, you鈥檙e eager and excited for the road ahead. In typical Pluto fashion, you鈥檙e thrilled to be meeting new people and are excited to find some new puppy friends. However, you鈥檒l probably need to learn how to cook your own doggy treats for yourself since Mickey Mouse won鈥檛 be around as often to make them for you.
Sophomore Year - Timon and Pumbaa
As you begin your second year of college, you may start to channel Timon and Pumbaa鈥檚 famous phrase: Hakuna Matata. It means no worries, at least for the rest of your sophomore year. Unlike Simba who has to stress over being king, you are feeling relaxed and enjoying the beautiful things that college has to offer. You鈥檙e starting to find your place in the Pride Lands, but just make sure to watch out for any sneaky hyenas along the way.
Junior Year - Sleeping Beauty
After lots of late nights, early mornings, and climbing up too many staircases in Griffin Hall, you鈥檙e starting to feel a little like Sleeping Beauty. It鈥檚 time to start thinking about life after college, but you just want to take a royal nap. But have no fear! You have an awesome group of magical fairies (aka your friends, family, and professors) that are here to help you make the transition into the royal real world.
Senior Year - Finding Dory
The time has arrived for you to jump into the big blue ocean called adulthood and you may be feeling a little lost like Dory. There are so many fun things to do in the ocean that you鈥檙e starting to get a bit confused; hopefully it鈥檚 not from short-term memory loss. But in the famous words of Dory, just keep swimming. If Dory can do it, so can you!
Alumni Status - Lilo & Stitch
No matter where life takes you, it鈥檚 important to remember that 鈥淥hana鈥 means family, and family means that nobody gets left behind. The world can seem pretty big, but you will always be a part of the 星空无限传媒 Lafayette alumni family.
