Monica Busby recently presented “(Re)defining Goals: A New Direction for Basic Writing Courses” at the Conference on College Composition and Communication (2004); her presentation discussed goals for developmental English by connecting faculty/student concerns, composition theory, and changing admissions requirements. In 2003 at the South Central Conference on Christianity and Literature, she presented “Following the Spirit, Saving Souls: African-American Women's Spiritual Narratives,” which examined the rhetorical strategies used by women preachers in 19th century spiritual narratives. At the African America 2001 Conference, she presented “Keeping the Faith: African-American Women’s Spiritual Narratives,” which examined the ways that nineteenth century women preachers maintained their faith and mission. At the African America 2000 Conference, she presented “Women’s Personal Narratives and the Cultural Work of Dust Tracks on a Road.” From 2001-2003, she directed the �ǿ����޴�ý Lafayette Writing Center.
